XRP Gains New Value with Mainstream Attention from Market Players

The California-based Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange has launched new Crypto-enabled VISA card with support of multiple cryptocurrencies including XRP. Consequently, UK residents with Coinbase’s VISA can use XRP to make purchases and cash withdrawals directly from their Coinbase account.

Coinbase VISA Card Supports XRP

Coinbase enables XRP, the third largest cryptocurrency with other leading cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Stellar Lumens (XLM), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and EOS. The announcement first revealed via Coinbase’s blog on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

Anyone with XRP and other supported crypto balance in their Coinbase account can instantly pay for their meals and other services directly through Coibase’s VISA debit card. Reportedly, this is the first Coinbase’s crypto-enabled debit card for UK and EU residents – however, presently, it is available only in the UK. Furthermore, as soon as customer uses Coinbase’s debit card, the exchange instantly covert respective crypto to fiat currency and completes the purchase in no time. Consequently, it helps merchants or store owners to receive their fiat while customers pay via their crypto balance. It looks pretty cool – seamless as you pay through the bank.

Beside Coinbase’s new VISA card, XRP can now be used to recharge mobile phone numbers, pay electricity bills, insurance, pharmacy requirements and more via crypto platform Uquid.

The startup called ‘Uquid’ announced to support XRP for various solutions as a form of payment. XRP holders can have streamlined payment system without having to convert their coins into fiat currencies or other tokens – they can simply use their XRP balance and pay for groceries, top up their phone numbers and for various other services.

The news about UQUID’s adoption of XRP payments is a positive signal, but, the Visa/Coinbase info is more precious. I hope other crypto exchanges will soon follow the Coinbase’s example, so we can also sell our tokens without waiting for the several working days transfer to our accounts. Back to the UQUID topic, to be honest, I don’t think that it’ll see a lot of action, at least for the moment, mainly because XRP holders(like myself) are not looking for ways to spend their tokens while they’re at such low prices, but waiting for the token to get mass adoption(as bridge currency), which will drive it’s price up, so we can cash in the profit. After all that’s why we’re holding on to our beloved crypto, because we believe in it 🙂
